Cantina is a casual Italian restaurant with big personality and bold flavours

From Neapolitan-style pizza to handmade pasta, the menu is all about celebrating the simple pleasures of great food, done well.

The brand needed to feel just as full of life. Our challenge was to develop a fun, expressive identity that captures the energy of the kitchen, the warmth of Italian dining and the vibrant culture of Cantina’s home in Egypt. The look had to be eye-catching, modern and flexible - working just as well on signage as it does on Instagram stories and pizza boxes.

The process

Designing with flavour

We started with the brand’s central idea - food that’s made with flair and served with joy. That spirit guided every element of the design system, from the expressive illustrations to the punchy tagline and graphic language.

At the core of the identity is a bold, custom wordmark paired with a suite of playful illustrations. Hand-drawn food graphics, pizza peels and characterful shapes give the brand texture and personality, while a vibrant colour palette keeps it feeling sunny and unmistakably Mediterranean.

The tagline, The pizza & pasta people, sets the tone for the whole experience. It’s confident, welcoming and full of flavour - just like the dishes on the menu.

We also developed a set of dynamic social assets designed to boost engagement and bring the brand’s personality online. These include bold typographic treatments, expressive sticker-style icons, and custom frames for sharing food, stories and specials across social media platforms.

The results

This concept was crafted to push the brand’s personality and tone to the max. From the first sketch to the final mockups, the result is a fun, cohesive identity that feels ready to launch and ready to serve.
